Why your business can grow through Pinterest

After we thought we had seen it all with social media, Pinterest goes viral and more and more businesses are reporting success. Should your business be on Pinterest or is it just another social media website?

Pinterest is a photo sharing social media website – in a pinboard style. The user creates a theme board, you post images from around the internet to your board.  This is perhaps why it is one of the fastest growing social media websites – the visual appeal. I personally agree with this.

So why use it? Firstly it will be good for your website performance as it will help your Google ranking that you’re on another social media website. Performance will also be affected by setting up a profile and linking it to your website. Any images that you put onto your board will link back to the site that they originated from. If your website has any images that you want to show off, then Pinterest is the way to publicise them.

Unlike other mainstream social media sites Pinterest is not about getting as many followers as you can as the majority of users are more interested in content. Pinterest is very good at setting trends and creating an online buzz. This is why content is key as people like to see ‘what’s hot’.

Pinterest does also show that your company is keeping up to date with current trends. As I have said previously Pinterest users like to engage with ‘what’s hot’. Posting current trends is a great way of showing the Pinterest community that your brand has style.

To learn more on Pinterest then have a read of Friday’s blog as Debbie will be taking you through the next steps of Pinterest for businesses. Yesterday was my last day at work so I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year! I Look forward to talking to you in the New Year!
