Marketing Planning: How Will You Get There?

In my previous blogs, Where is Your Business Currently and Growing the Business, Setting your Goals.  We talked about marketing planning and how to grow your business. After reading both these blogs you will now have a starting point and knowing where your business is, so what?s next?

Let?s look at the London 2012 Olympics.  Firstly I would like to congratulate everyone that took part in the Olympics and Paralympics. In order to achieve their goal of taking part in the games, every athlete went through a planning stage, they knew what their goals were, but how did they get there?

Each Athlete had a training schedule that they stuck too.  This schedule will have been focussed on a set of goals – get to required fitness level, stay injury-free, get to the Games, win a gold medal.  There will have been a step process of how they are going to get there, with lots of different stages to get to before the ultimate goal of winning a gold medal.

The same can be applied to businesses.   What is your business goal and how will you get there? Planning is a vital activity to undertake regularly, if you know what you are planning for. For more information on planning and goal setting have a look at the marketing planning videos page on our website.
