Wanted – Another Marketing Apprentice!

After a tough time in 2012, we’ve turned Appletree around and are now growing again! We’ve taken on so many more lovely clients in the last 12 months that we’re now looking for another MARKETING APPRENTICE to join our happy team.

This full-time job will be ideal for someone looking for their first marketing role, who wants to learn on the job and attend a college course every week.

Marketing Apprentice – What’s Involved?

This is a full-time job. We’re looking for a permanent member of staff to join us in our office in West Berkshire. We need someone who wants to develop a career in marketing and a long term commitment to our business.

The Overall Purpose?

To carry out regular administration activities for clients and Appletree, to help with the smooth running of the business.

To carry out simple marketing activities for clients and Appletree, to help maintain a flow of potential clients into the businesses and help them to grow.

To attend a one year college course to develop knowledge of marketing and put it into practice in a business setting, leading to an NVQ 2 qualification and career progression within Appletree.

The Key Parts of the Job?

1. Office Administration – regular activities to help with the smooth running of the office, including filing and sending information to clients.

2. Data Gathering – researching and compiling mailing and media lists for targeted mailing campaigns. Carrying out online keyword research for website development. Using Google Analytics to assess website activity.

3. Phone Calls – making calls to prospects and media contacts. Keeping in touch with these contacts on a regular and ongoing basis, to build up relationships and look for sales opportunities.

4. Marketing for Clients – carrying out marketing activities identified in action plans, including using social media, updating websites and measuring marketing activity and results.

  • Self motivated and able to work under own initiative.

  • Keen to learn, grow and develop.

When and Where?

An office-based job at RG20 6RQ in West Berkshire – having your own transport will be necessary. The job is full-time with time each week spent at Newbury College (a mix of day time and evenings) and the rest in the office. Wages will be apprenticeship level and according to age. There will be lots of opportunities to grow and learn.
