Planning your business into 2013
Towards the end of 2013 the Appletree team were taken for a pub lunch for our monthly ideas and innovations meeting. Since we started having these meetings we have made some changes that really benefit the company and how we operate. I felt this was a very successful meeting as we have now prepared our entire marketing focus for the year.
Once a month the Appletree team sits down together to discuss any new ideas or ways of improving current systems in place. Various ideas will go round the table and are discussed as a group. The majority of ideas are not going to create the business millions of pounds, but they are going to help discover how we can offer a better service to our clients, how we can manage our time better and how we market ourselves.
Not only do we discuss new ideas for the business, we talk about business planning. We want to make sure that we are ahead of the game, so we ensure that we know what the business is going to be focusing on in the next few months. By setting out a clear plans for the following months we also ensure that we practice what we preach and that we use current marketing methods. This helps to identify what works and doesn’t so we have clearer insight for our clients.
Holding ideas and innovations meetings with your team can really help your business in many ways. Your team will feel like they play a significant part of the business, by helping to grow or maintain it. The meeting also acts a great team building exercise. Since Appletree has started having these meetings our team has never been stronger. Each one of us now has a much clearer vision for the business and what we offer. It has also help bring us together to create a stronger than ever team.
In Friday’s blog Debbie will tell to you about some of the things we talked about in our last meeting – so make sure you give it a read if you would like some tips. I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas as well. As usual, if you would like to talk to me about what was covered in the blog then send me an email.
