Marketing Apprentice

My Marketing job: The Apprentice Story

The past month has been a full serving of busy projects and tasks with a side order of college work.  To say the least, I’ve been busy. Most of my time this month has been taken up by the exhibition, Experience Business! This Wednesday (10th October) my 3 month project of organising and promoting the event, is finally going to be public. I am very excited for Experience Business and cannot wait to see the fruits of my labour.

SEO and social media, that’s my department.

Due to my keen interest in SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and social media, I was appointed as Appletree’s  champion in both these areas. I’ve spent many hours researching and learning SEO techniques and have learnt a great deal already. I put what I’ve learnt into practise by optimizing clients YouTube pages, as well as Appletree’s. I successfully managed to increase our YouTube views by 200% in the space of a month – I’m pretty happy with that. Due to this I have been asked to work on a massive project, The Venus Awards. I shall be helping to manage Venus awards social media over the next year. I’ll be writing a blog in a few weeks about my social media plan for the Venus Awards, so keep your eye out.

Apprenticeship; remember to attend college.

I am really enjoying my apprenticeship and would advise to anyone that wants to start their career to get an apprenticeship. Learning valuable business skills, getting at least a full year experience, getting paid and getting a qualification, what a deal! The only downside I have with my apprenticeship is the college side. I find myself very frustrated with some of the tedious work that my apprenticeship requires me to do. I had a mock IT paper last week; one of the questions was ‘produce a screen shot of you making a word document read only.’ I find the college work frustrating as its very time consuming (not the IT mock paper) and I would much rather I spent that time working on projects for clients. But the good aspects easily outweigh the bad and do completely understand that theory is as important as the practical.

This month is going to be as equally busy, but I thrive on being busy.  If you would like to discuss with me anything mentioned in this blog then please do contact me.  If you want more information on how YouTube can benefit your business then keep your eye out as I will be writing a blog in the next few weeks all about it, or you can email me.
