Google plus or a minus?
In Nidhi’s last blog she wrote about how to set your Google+ up to its maximum potential. In my blog I’m going to let you know why you should be using Google+ for your business.
First off
Google+ is a social media network that has been growing at an unprecedented rate. It has passed every social network except Facebook with regards to number of users, with over 343,000,000. Google+ has been predicted to pass Facebook in 2016 making it the worlds largest social media network.
I already have Facebook and Twitter, why do I need Google+?
So you might have been using Facebook for a couple of years, getting the hang of Twitter and I’m telling you to get on Google+ and start using another network. When you started marketing for your business you didn’t just stick an advert in the local newspaper, you sent letters, had radio adverts, went networking and plenty more ways. This is the same with Google+. All social media networks have their advantages and disadvantages, some of the benefits of Google+ are:
- Local pages. Allow you to review businesses and places you have visited. It’s similar to Yell.com but with a social network behind it. You have to have a Google+ account if you want to show up in local results on Google.
- #Hashtags. Help you gain exposure; Google will even give you hints of what Hashtags to use if you are stuck.
- Hangouts. Google’s way of letting you host a webinar, it lets you stream video with an unlimited number of viewers. So those hard to get to seminars or workshops are now much more easily accessible. You can even link these to your YouTube account, so people can watch it live while its streaming or catch up on it at a later date.
- Communities. No matter what your business does or sells there are people on Google+ that like or sell the same thing. You can connect to these people in communities; this allows you to see only relevant posts and information from other users who have joined. It’s like a content focused timeline.
These are just a few of the benefits of using Google+ for your business. I hope they have persuaded you to join the fastest growing social media network available.
