Blogging Brings Business
On Monday Dale gave us some expert reasons on why you should start a business blog. You now have all the positive reasons why you should start a blog. So…have you started one? If you’re still not sure that a blog is for your business, then continue reading and find out how and why it works.
We blog 3 times a week and I would like to tell you why that works for us and how it affects the business. Dale said on Monday that blogging is good for your websites performance as search engines, such as Google, love fresh content. I had a look through our analytics this morning and can report that in September 50% of our top 10 most popular pages were blog posts. This tells me that people are coming to our website to read our blogs. Once they have read the blogs they will have a look round the website and see how we can be of service, or read another blog. Another brilliant aspect to point out is all the blogs mentioned are from a range of authors. This tells us that the readers like all of our writing styles and find all of our content useful. It would be worrying if only one author was getting all the attention.
From a current client point of view, it works brilliantly for Appletree. As we blog about a mass range of topics relating to marketing, we have covered a lot of material. If a client would like more information on a specific marketing related topic then 9/10 we can refer them to one of our blogs. It is always better to refer your clients to your own brand as this well help to build credibility and develop the relationship. This is one of the fundamental reasons that we need to keep up to date with the industry, so we can tell people about the latest methodologies and ideas and make sure we incorporating it in our marketing plans.
When meeting people, I have introduced myself and the person I am talking to responds “Ahh Yan! Nice to meet you, I’ve been reading your blogs, keep it up!” Now of course when meeting somebody I do understand that this could be a polite thing to say. However I know that they have been reading my blogs as they will then want to discuss the content or any ideas they may have had. As a marketing assistant I cannot tell you how good this makes me feel that I already have some credibility with business leaders. Imagine what you can gain from your blogs.
These are some of the best aspects of blogs that I have discovered. What would you like to blog about? What information do you have stored in your head that you would love to share with the world? Write it down, share your expertise and gain an audience. Once you have started to build your audience you?ll be surprised who may be interested in becoming a client.
