Marketing Your Blog Part 3

In Marketing Your Blog Part 2 we looked at ways to promote your blog 1-6.  Here?s the final instalment of this series, giving you more tips on how to make sure your blog is working hard for you.

7. Search and help on Twitter

Genuine assistance is one of the best ways to build a community of loyal Twitter followers. Search Twitter using something you know you can help with, and then reply with some genuine advice and your shortened URL to relevant blogs. The result is often a new Twitter follower, a new subscriber to your blog and a blog comment.

8. Email signature

Another powerful little technique is to add your latest blog post headline to your email signature. It?s another way to share your blog with people, but not intrusively – you don?t want to force your blog writing on people, they will not like it.

9. Your next e-newsletter

If you have an e-newsletter, you should be incorporating at least some of your blog content. Include a few post headlines/teasers and see which posts get the most clicks. You may just find that you need to do some follow-up blog posts on a topic that received a lot of clicks.  Click here for why writing a newsletter is great for your business.

10. Ask other bloggers to mention your post

Building relationships with other bloggers in your space and asking them to blog about or link to your post can be a great way to expand your reach. Reciprocating promotional efforts can have a big payoff in the form of high-quality backlinks and big jumps in search engine rankings, blog traffic and subscribers.  The key is to make this promotional effort part of your process.

If you?re using the shortened URL and have analytics installed on your website/blog, you should see your hard work pay off almost immediately. Commonly we our clients share their results showing significant increases in website activity, traffic, and rankings each time their blog is issued.  This in turn leads to greater reach, opportunities and overall sales.  If you?d like help creating a blog strategy and writing your blogs get in touch, we love making them work!
